One thing that struck me today was the absence of homeless people here. Japan is such an orderly, polite, clean place. I saw my first homeless person today and it was a bit of a surprise to me.
I went to Roppongi for a Star Wars exhibit which was beyond amazing. Unfortunately no cameras allowed once you get into the main part of the exhibit. There’s really not much more to say besides: do your research. It would have been a shame if I had missed it. There were models and original costumes from the first 3 films most of it from George Lucas’ personal collection.
I went back to the Skytree for a minute to send some postcards. There is a Postal museum on the 9th floor along with a functioning post office. If you want to send some international mail this is definitely the place to do it. The folks working here were super helpful.
Went to Shinjuku in the evening to the famous (or infamous) Robot Restaurant. I was really hoping to get some decent photos but it is just way too dark. Maybe next time I’ll be able to bring the new Sony A7s2 – if I can afford to rent one that is. I’m discovering that I need to be less concerned about ISO noise and just use the camera. Ok enough photography geeking and show you the few photos that I did take today. Tomorrow: Shinkansen to Kyoto!
